2027 Special Visit
Sonoma State University was notified of WSCUC’s official record of action to place the university on a Notice of Concern and defer reaffirmation of accreditation in February 2026. As part of the university’s continued accreditation process, WSCUC will conduct a Special Visit to the campus in April 2027 to address the issues identified in the Notice of Concern.
In preparation for the Special Visit, the Sonoma State WSCUC Special Visit Steering Committee will meet every other week throughout the 2026–27 academic year to coordinate the university’s response and prepare a report for WSCUC prior to the visit. The committee is led by Jennifer Whiles Lillig, Interim Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dean of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies, Administrative Lead for Extended Education, and Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO).
